Cloud Software Architect (Full-time)

ProvenWorks is looking to fill a new, exciting, pivotal architect position within the UK!

We are inviting candidates with 4+ years of architect experience in a lead developer or software architect type role who believe they have high potential to drive success, but do be aware, we have high standards!

Key Attributes

Responsibilities

  • Stay apprised of the latest developments on the Azure & Salesforce platforms to identify areas of opportunity for improvement to existing and future products.
  • Work closely with the Director of Product Engineering and Sales Team to remain continuously appraised of customer feature requests & pains with their current Salesforce environment.
  • Having heard customers’ issues, present a solution to the CTO and/or Senior Developer before handing over to ProvenWorks’ international development team for implementation.
  • During the development lifecycle be involved in code and final-solution reviews.
  • Be a “player / coach” implementing parts of solutions yourself where necessary.
  • With the assistance of the CTO and Senior Developer make time for bespoke customer requests.
  • The architect will take ownership of driving new features from scope stages to delivery.
  • Communicate progress to relevant stakeholders to ensure all parties are aligned.

Technical Experience

  • The ideal architect will have extensive experience of an Object-oriented language such as C# or Java or even better Salesforce Apex including associated leading web technologies.
  • The architect will have studied and have used software design patterns.
  • The architect will be well-read on best practices in the areas of test-driven development and source control, experience of Git and JIRA is a bonus.
  • Any experience with Azure or alternatively AWS will stand you in good stead.
  • Any exposure to the requirements of SaaS security compliance standards such as SOC2 or ISO27001 is an advantage.

Location

Our office is located in the Reading Enterprise Centre on the scenic University of Reading campus which has been recognised as one of Britain’s top green spaces for nine years running. Along with free on-site parking, the campus is also within walking distance from a train station and there are direct bus routes into Reading town centre. If you prefer to cycle to work, we offer the cycle to work scheme. The office has an in building cafe and staff have full access to university campus dining facilities.

.NET Developer (Full-time)

ProvenWorks is a SaaS company that has over 3000 customers today and is looking to expand its existing development team by recruiting a .NET developer to assist in enhancing and improving its existing range of products with a potential to expand into new endeavours. We are inviting talented candidates with experience in developing .NET applications, ideally on Azure and who are familiar with Microservice Architecture who believe they have high potential.

Ideally you will work from time-to-time from our office based at the University of Reading Campus however we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements with the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, test-driven & scalable code using .NET programming languages.
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug code.
  • Be a quick learner to adopting new technologies.
  • Produce architecture artefacts to articulate larger, strategic changes to key stakeholders.
  • Have a strong passion for coding and the surrounding infrastructure for web applications.
  • Participate in code reviews and pull request approvals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a .NET Developer or Application Developer.
  • Existing knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, C# and Java are favourable.
  • Familiarity with architecture patterns & APIs (REST, SOAP).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, working within a software development team
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Extremely good attention-to-detail.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with Microservice Architecture and modelling techniques such as Event Storming.
  • Use of Microsoft Azure or alternatively AWS.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM.

Support and Solution Engineer (Part-time)

Are you looking for a position in an exciting software development company that will jumpstart your career? Then look no further! We’re after a part-time Support and Solution Engineer who is ready to get stuck in. At ProvenWorks, we invest in you, provide mentoring and training, and give you the tools you need to build on soft and hard skills.This position is ideal for a student looking to get started in the IT industry. In fact, many of our full-time members of staff started off as part-time students so we mean it when we say we’re committed to your professional development.

ProvenWorks is a growing software development company working with Salesforce CRM and currently supporting over 3000 customers across the world. The Support and Solution Engineer is at the heart of the business, ensuring that prospects and customers have a point of contact that they can liaise with if questions arise. Designing exciting proof-of-concepts and exploring new approaches within the Salesforce sphere will allow you to preempt potential questions and get ahead of the curve for implementations.

As this is an entry level job in a technical field, we will not require any proven hard skills, but we do encourage you to be proactive and energetic, with an ambition to develop the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist our Sales team with recommendations and answers to customer queries to help close deals
  • Maintain a support case queue using Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Produce documentation to support our products
  • Contribute to public-facing blog posts on the ProvenWorks website
  • Work closely with the Director of Product Engineering (who originally started in this role) on delivering projects of all scales

Requirements

  • Self-motivation and a keen interest in IT
  • Very good English proficiency
  • Great attention to detail with a willingness to learn

Nice to have

  • Previous experience using a CRM system

Working hours will depend on when customer support queries come in. Due to the nature of the role, it can be worked remotely.

We are looking for self-driven and motivated students to join us for a year placement. Due to the size of our company, the role will depend on the needs of the business closer to the time.
